Stock the Bar Bridal Shower

Many women like their bridal showers to be just women.  However, recently it has become more socially acceptable to have men at your bridal shower.  If you are a woman who sees nothing wrong with having men at your bridal shower, then a stock the bar bridal shower might be just for you.  This works only if you have a home bar or alcohol storage area.  In this type of party, instruct each of your guests to bring their favorite alcoholic beverage to help the bride and groom stock their bar or storage facility.  When the actual party arrives, the bride and groom can give each guest his or her own cocktail party mixer and have each person mix their own special drink, made of whatever alcohol people brought.  Then, once everyone has mixed a drink, you can go around tasting each persons mixture, rating it 1 to 10, and the winner would receive a prize.  The prize could be some bottle of very expensive wine or vodka, or something totally unrelated to alcohol.  You can make whatever you'd like.  The invites for a stock the bar bridal shower should only really be sent to people you really know drink alcohol.  If you sent a bridal shower invitation to someone who is a recovering alcoholic, this might seem as a little bit dunderheaded.  Make sure to stress in your bridal shower invitations that this is not a party to get drunk at, but simply to christen the new marriage with a few high class drinks.
