Your skin mainly composes of 2 major layers, the epidermis or outer skin layer and the dermis which is the inner layer. The pigment that gives the skin color is located on the outer layer. The skin tone differs with every individual due racial differences, skin reaction to the environment, and some other factors. People with sub-Saharan African ancestry commonly called the black people have darker skin. Those of Northern European descent or the white people do have paler skin. However, between the limits are individuals of Asian, South-East Asian, Native American, have a skin considered the most beautiful, due to its characteristics with the right amount of melanin causing a perfect skin tone and glow. The skin protects your inner organs from being damaged by the pathogens that are present everywhere. It also prevents excessive water loss in the body. In doing so, our skin needs proper care and attention as much as we care for our health. The skin needs frequent washing or bath to remove the thin layer of dead cells formed during the day and the collected dirt that goes to the pores in the skin from the air. Washing the skin with the use of mild products specially formulated for the skin like milk soaps, virgin coconut oil, and placenta helps insure good skin. The use of sun blocks, lotions, and creams may also help if you use them with the right amount and prescriptions. Do not over do placing these products without your dermatologist prescription they may cause unwanted future skin disorder.
